Some frequently asked questions
Where are you located?
Our main venue, Perron 1, is at Jernbanevej 9, 8660 Skanderborg — right at Skanderborg Station. You can park outside or step off the train and walk straight in. We also have venues across the municipality including Øm Kloster Museum, Skanderborg Bunkerne, and Gl. Rye Mølle.
Is entry free?
Mostly yes
Entry to Perron 1 is free — walk in anytime, no ticket needed. Some of our other venues charge a small entry fee. Skanderborg Bunkerne and Øm Kloster Museum have their own admission prices, which you can find on each venue's page.
When are you open?
Perron 1 is open Tuesday–Sunday. Skanderborg Bunkerne is open April through October. Øm Kloster Museum and Gl. Rye Mølle have seasonal opening hours. Check the individual venue pages for exact times — we keep them up to date.
Is it suitable for children?
Absolutely!
Perron 1 has a sensory hallway with sound, light, and video that children love, and our events regularly include hands-on activities for families. We recommend checking what is currently on — our events often have something specifically designed for younger visitors.
Do you have a café?
Yes!
Perron 1 has a café and shop at street level. You are welcome to use it whether you are visiting the museum or just passing through the station. No reservation needed.
What is currently on?
We have rotating exhibitions and regular events throughout the year — lectures, guided tours, workshops, and seasonal festivals. The best way to stay up to date is to check our events calendar or sign up for our newsletter.
Can I visit if I only have an hour?
Absolutely!
Perron 1 is designed for all kinds of visits — from a quick coffee and browse to a full afternoon. If you are arriving by train or have time to spare in the city, come as you are.

“
Skanderborg's history is not something that happened long ago. It is still happening, and we get to be part of that every day.
